Don't you just love it?

Personal Progress!!

Today, my mom and I were working on Personal Progress together. We were working on Divine Nature #1:)... I just finished Individual Worth, so Divine Nature is a new and exciting thing:)! I love working on Personal Progress and doing the projects... It makes me feel so much better when I'm doing it with somebody. Love you mum, and Personal Progress, I love you too;)! Divine Nature #1 talks about the divine qualities of a Daughter of God, and we (my mom and I) read "The Proclamation of the World" and some scriptures, and It made me realize that your actions can effect so much more. Faith, virtue, being humble, being diligent in keeping the commandments are some of the Divine qualities of a Daughter of God, and I think that that is really special. I know from the bottom of my heart that this is true. And I love it all... such an inspired program!

Well, my old blog, turquoisesparkles.blogspot.com is back up. It was down for a little while, blogger said it was deleted, but it wasn't, obviously, because you can go see it again! Watch for more updates on THAT blog. If anything like that happens again, I'll go back to dancingonkeys.blogspot.com, but hopefully it doesn't.

New Blog

In case you were wondering...I started my new personal blog at the address dancingonkeys.blogspot.com. It probably won't be quite as good as my last one, since that's been going since 2008, but enough negative talk! I have a new personal blog! Go check it out! But first, check your email to see if you got an invitation to read it, 'cause it's a private blog. If you didn't, comment, and I'll try to get one to you.

I have lost my blog. I don't know what happened, but somehow, everything deleted. I've been working on that blog since June 2008, and now it's gone. I'll keep writing on this one, maybe start a new personal one, but I've lost everything; all of my memories are gone from that blog. D':

Choir Concert

I had a choir concert tonight. My family was able to come, which I was very happy about. I had lots of fun at this concert, and I wish I could do it again. My favorite song was "In the Bleak Midwinter", but no one else really liked it, because they thought it was too slow. They all liked "Goin' on a Sleigh Ride", which I didn't like.

I wish that we could have a longer weekend so that she could stay longer, but it was still fun to have her:). Luv ya and miss you!

My Thanksgiving

For my Thanksgiving this year, my family and I drove down to Utah. We first stayed at our grandparents' house, but then our cousins came up. So, while they slept at our grandparents' house, we went to the Pope house. The Pope house is the house of my uncle's parents, and they don't live there all the time. Anyway, there are six bedrooms there, and so we all could have had our own room, but we slept together downstairs. On Thanksgiving morning, we went to Mimi and Papa's house (that's what we call Grammy and Grampa), and helped with the meal. We always have our Thanksgiving dinner early around 2:00, so it's like a lunch. Then we have a small supper, usually eggs and toast.
Our dinner was sooooo good! This year, with the turkey, we also had ham! I love ham, by the way. Also we had mashed potatoes, and gravy, and yams, and corn, and peas, and stuffing, and butterhorns, and fruit salad, and juice! I loved this year's meal. After that, we had pie. And it was directly after it! We didn't even wait till we weren't full anymore! We just ate dessert! Then we played some games with our cousins.
So then we went back to the Pope house, and we slept. This morning, I went with my mom to help my great grandparents move to an assisted living place. I think it was pretty nice to see that they're going somewhere safe. I played some songs on the piano for them, and they loved it. They absolutely love listening to the piano, so I absolutely love playing it for them.
Well, that's been our Thanksgiving break so far. What was yours like?

Since Emma shared a scripture about Thanksgiving, I will as well. Philippians 4:6 says; Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  So just don't be worried about anything, but let God know about what you need, and he will help you.

My Thanksgiving!

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We went to some of our friends house, ate their and played games. I was oh SO full that I barley ate break fest the next day:). I really like this holiday over here because it's a time to remember all the things that your grateful for. I am grateful for my family and my friends, I am grateful for all the difficulties that make's me learn, I am grateful for a laugh and cries. I also really like the quote on the picture-"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." I think it's really important to remember all those things we have and see that we are grateful for all of that. Sometimes, I just say prayers where I don't ask for stuff, I just tell Him all the things that I'm grateful for. I hope you all had a very fun, cheerful Thanksgiving!

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1"

Last night, my dad took me and my ten-year-old sister to see this movie!  I think the people who made it did a very good job, and they really did stick to the story from the book.  I enjoyed "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" very much, and I can't wait to see the second part in July! This movie ended just when Voldemort takes the elder wand out of Albus Dumbledore's grave, and then holds it up to the sky making a huge blue blast. I loved this movie! Some parts were taken out or altered a bit, but otherwise it really stuck to the book! I love it when movies do that! (Which, by the way, "The Lightning Thief" did not!)

Christmas Tree

Today our family went up to our cousins' house in Soda Springs to cut a Christmas tree! We went there hoping for some even half decent, and came back home with a tall beautiful pine. When we set it up in our home, we saw it was even a good six inches taller that our giant ceiling. So Mom and Dad spent quite a while making sure our tree looked perfect, and I think it looks amazing.
Downstairs in the playroom, we kids get our old tree from so many years. It's not a real tree, but it does look kind of cool. It's a lot more full than the real one, and very dark green. Lorien and Livia put it up together all by themselves, and it looks perfect.
I love having such a beautiful Christmas tree in our house!

"Thanksgiving" talk

Last Tuesday, I was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting. This will be my first time, and I'll be speaking on November 21. Yesterday I finished writing my talk, and I must say I'm not so nervous about it now that it's written. I need to talk about Thanksgiving, so I'm talking on the holiday and the scriptural meaning. I hope it goes well!

Thanksgiving.................

Right now, I just can't wait for the holiday Thanksgiving because, well, for the food, but also that my best friend Sophia is coming here to Provo to visit. I'm so excited to see her and of course her family:). This thought makes me happy... I wish we could see each other more often, I miss you! Anyways, my family (this is Emma writing) is spending the holiday at our friends, the missionary that converted my dad to the church. We did this last year, so is kind of like a tradition. Can't wait to see you, Sophia!

Nanowrimo Young Writer's Program

I have now started a program called nanowrimo, which stands for National Novel Writing Month. That's November. In November, I'm supposed to write a novel with a certain word goal that I should try to write. My goal is 5,000 words, and I have written 1,450. I think it's a really fun thing to do, and I think you should all try it next year, since it's too late this year. If you're 17 or under you can to the young writer's program, but if you're 13 or older you can do the regular one with a goal of 50,000 words. Sound fun? I think so.

SNOW?!

All during school today, it snowed like crazy. Everybody was amazed at how much snow could be seen falling out the windows. But what really surprised me was how much snow was on the ground when we got out of school to get on the buses. Everything was absolutely covered in snow! And when I got home, I saw Livia and Ingrid had made lots of big snowballs and lined them up. Snow is really beginning to come down now, even though it's not winter until DECEMBER 21! What was the weather like where you live?

Halloween!

My Halloween was so much fun, I had a couple of friends over (see in pic) and we went trick or treating. After going in the COLD weather, we wacthed a Halloween movie! Than after that, instead of exchanging our candy, we played a game called "31" and and gambled out our candy... we're bad kids:). I was Lady Mogana from the movie Merlin, Sophie was a goth and I forgot what Madeline was.
I hope everyone had a safe, fun Halloween!

Good Works Value Project

For Young Women in Excellence, we need to do a value project to show. These projects need to take at least ten hours. I'm doing mine on good works. This is how my personal progress book explains it: Prepare to be a homemaker by collecting recipes, shopping for food, and preparing meals for your family. So far, I have spent three hours collecting recipes, shopping for food, and preparing two meals. I will continue making dinner every afternoon  until I have completed ten hours worth. I think this is a really neat kind of project to do, and it's fun too. I like making dinners and setting the table to make it look pretty. It's really neat.

Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center

Yesterday, since we had the day off of school for parent teacher conference, my mom took us up to West Yellowstone and we spent the day up there, We first went to an amazing hotel where our cousins were staying. The hotel room was actually more like a hotel house. It had a separate kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and two bedrooms. Also, in the living room, there was a bed that pulled out from the wall. Anyway, we talked for a while and ate lunch, and then spent about an hour and a half at the swimming pool and spa. It wouldn't have been as fun, though, if we hadn't brought our two beach balls with us. They served as our flotation devices.
After swimming, we went across the street to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. This was a really cool place like a zoo, but it only had grizzly bears and wolves. The bears were so much bigger than I ever imagined, but they looked so soft. Don't worry, I would never go up to a bear just because it looked soft. The wolves were snowy white, and they just walked around the rocks in there habitat. One even walked right below the platform we were standing on. They were BEAUTIFUL! Inside a little cabin to the side, we could see a wolf walk by the windows. Clara absolutely loved the statue of a wolf inside the cabin. She especially liked sticking her finger up his nose. Oh well, it's better than sticking it up her own nose.

The Temple

After church today, I was interviewed by the first counselor in our bishopric for my temple recommend. My last one was only one use and I used it, but I also lost it. So, I needed a new one. I did "pass the test", and now am able to go do baptisms at the temple as much as I want for one year. I've decided I am going to go, and as often as I can get my parents to let me. I'm so glad!

As you can see, there's a total stranger in the picture, yes, that would be my grandpa. Yesterday, we went up into the mountains and took some family fall pictures. My grandpa came from Denmark and is with us now. I love showing him Utah and all the wonderful places to visit here. So don't be surprised when you see him in some of our fall pictures. So, just here are some of our fall pictures...

Yes, Welcome!

Thanks for that introduction, Emma! She pretty much said it all. This is a best friend blog, and we hope you will enjoy reading it as much as we enjoy writing it. I live in Rexburg, Idaho, and Emma lives in Provo, Utah. We'll try to post about anything and everything we could possibly need to write about, and we hope it's fun!

Welcome to Sophia and Emma's Blog!

Welcome everybody! This is Sophia's and Emma's "Best Friends Foever" blog. How this idea came up was that Sophia had to move to Idaho before school started which was the sadest thing ever because we were going to go to Jr. High together; and my family bought our house so we're not moving anywhere. One night I (as in Emma) came over to Sophia's house late the night before she left to move to say goodbye. So ever since she moved, we would write letters, emails, and comment on each other's blog more often. So by email, we wrote to eachother that we wanted to make a blog together where we can both post post's. Don't you think it was a good idea?!? Anyway, I miss you Sophia so much!
